Samira Mahfuz is a University of Toronto graduate with a HBA Specialist in Digital Enterprise Management, Minor in Philosophy, and Diploma in Digital Communications from Sheridan College. She is the recipient of the Art Gallery Ontario Award and W.J. Blackhall Award. Aside from working as a freelance photographer and graphic designer, Mahfuz continuously explores young South Asian femme diaspora in Western societies and the construction of new identities/ethnicities via mediascapes for conceptual photography and academic research.

S M M Y T R Y 

Symmetry is an ongoing side-project that combines Mahfuz's photographs with other mediums such as digital reconstruction and paint. Topics surrounding female psychological states, empowerment, cultural identity exploration, and more, are visualized through abstract art. Portion of proceeds go towards women's charitable causes.
